By accessing or using Dictify ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Dictify is a macOS application that provides system-wide speech-to-text dictation using a locally-run Whisper AI model. The companion website provides account management and application downloads.

3. Privacy and Data

All speech processing occurs locally on your device. Audio data is never transmitted to our servers. The website stores only your account information (name, email, hashed password). See our Privacy Policy for details.

4. User Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must provide accurate information when creating an account. One account per person.

5. Acceptable Use

You may not use Dictify to violate any laws, infringe on others' rights, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems. You may not reverse-engineer, decompile, or create derivative works from the application except as permitted by applicable law.

6. Intellectual Property

Dictify and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by the Dictify team. The Whisper model is provided by OpenAI under its respective license.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee the accuracy of transcriptions.

8. Limitation of Liability

In no event shall Dictify be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of your use of the Service.

9. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
